Parallel resistors formula - what value of resistor, Req, is equivalent to the two resistors, R1 and R2, connected in parallel?
Figure 1 shows two resistors connected in parallel. ![]() If you connect different resistor values in parallel use the formula: Req = R1 x R2/R1 + R2 If you connect parallel resistors with the same value use the formula: Req = R/n where n is the number of resistors in parallel. |
